What will I do with my life?

I’m a guy, who just turned twenty years old. As a matter of fact, I turned twenty today.  I live in Malmö, Sweden and I load trains with cargo for a living. I’m interested in traveling, photography and meeting new people. So I finally decided to start a blog and here it is.

I have for a long time wanted to leave the country I live in (Sweden) to travel the world for a long time. Many times I thought about moving to another country to work and in a way, start a new life. Now that plan has changed. I want to become a vagabond and travel the whole world instead. I want to, sort of, live like a bum. Do whatever it takes to get money, hitchhike, meet new people, be independent and so on.

So I will quit my job, break the ties and get rid of my apartment. This is everything I think about, every day. I am deeply afraid of getting stuck and afraid of living the life you are supposed to live. That is, getting a good job, getting a family, house, wife, kids and so on. I don’t want to do that. At least, not yet.

Right now I am in the planning stage. Deciding what countries I have to visit, except those i will be visiting spontaneously. I don’t know what to do about the money though, how much I will be needing if I can’t find a job in another country. So I’m planning on moving to Norway to work a couple of months before going on my journey to get some hard cash.

There is so much I want to write right now, but let’s end this post here so it doesn’t become a book.

  • hey Danny,

Excellent to make such a decision! All the best with it, it sure will bring you lots of adventures and a life with you in control.

I am looking forward reading more, and write me when you’ll be in Amsterdam :)
